WHAT AN AMAZING WORK OF ART!! 

This unbelievable Santa Claus is hand painted by the artist creating this amazingly detailed dark blue and gold Russian Santa Claus with a gorgeous winter scene on the front of his gown. The scene is that of a snow covered wooden cabin in a Siberian forest. There is smoke coming out of the chimney of the cabin and the trees are almost completely covered in snow. Santa has a long flowing beard that and a kind expression on his face. Santa is wearing an exquisite overcoat that is painted with raised dots of paint in golds, whites, greens and other colors that give the impression that there are beads and stones sewn into the fabric. Santa also has a gold vest that, along with his overcoat, is painted to look as if it is edged in fur - perhaps Ermine - the fur of royalty. Santa's cap is also painted to look as if it has stones sewn in and has a star like pattern painted on the front! Santa is holding a sweet little bird in one hand and a beautifully decorated walking staff in the other. His staff is decorated with gold whorls and raised dots of paint which look like there are pearls or stones embedded in it. Slung over his shoulder is a gold mail satchel which is most likely stuffed full of letters from all those good little girls and boys! And down by his side is a friendly little Russian bear guarding Santa's toy pack. SEE CLOSE-UP PICTURES BELOW. This Santa statue is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not mass produced molded resin from China. All our Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two Santas are ever identical.) This Grandfather Frost, as he is called in Russia, is made in Sergei Posad, Russia and measures just under 18 inches tall by 11.5 inches wide.
