WOW! AN AMAZING WORK OF ART! This fantastic hand carved and hand painted 5 piece Russian matryoshka nesting doll set (stacking doll) is beautifully painted in greens, reds and golds. Each doll has a lovely face, an amazing floral design on the front of her gown, and a fantastic headdress and scarf. The flowers on the front of each doll are pinks and yellows; the leaves are greens and blues; and both the flowers and leaves are accented with gold edging. These dolls are carved from Linden Wood and you can clearly see the wood grain through the paint. This nesting set consists of 5 dolls (4 of which "nest" or "stack" inside the largest) and is made in Sergei Posad, Russia. On the bottom of the largest doll the artist has signed his name and informed us that the set includes 5 pieces. The largest doll measures just over 5.5 inches tall while the smallest is under 1.25 inches tall.
