This amazing hand carved and hand painted Russian Santa Claus is painted in blues, greys and whites with a lovely scene all the way around his cloak. The scene on the front is that of a snowman and snowwoman singing carols together. The scene on the back is that of another snow couple looking at a beautiful Christmas tree. Santa is holding a rustic walking staff in one hand and a toy sack covered with snowflakes balanced on his shoulder with the other. This statue is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not molded or mass produced as are some molded resin Santas from China. All our Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so each one is a unique piece!) This Grandfather Frost (as he is called in Russia) is made in Sergei Posad, Russia. This Santa is signed by the artist and measures just over 5.75 inches tall by just over 3 inches from front to back.
