This quaint hand painted, Russian Santa Claus is sitting comfortably in his rocking chair holding his lantern aloft! His chair has a lovely scene painted all the way around it - scenes of a snow covered Russian village with a bridge over a river, cabins, and Russian Orthodox churches with golden Onion Domes. Santa has a sweet expression on his face as he relaxes in his rocking chair (which actually rocks!) and holds a brightly lit lantern. (SEE CLOSE UP PICTURES BELOW). This Santa is very lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not mass produced molded resin from China. All our Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two Santas are ever identical.) This Grandfather Frost, as he is called in Russia, is made in Sergei Posad, Russia. This Santa is signed by the artist and measures just over 5.25 inches tall by 4 inches wide.
