This fantastic Russian Santa Claus is hand carved and hand painted in reds, blues, greens, tans, bronze and golds. The scene on the front of Santa's cloak is that of a snowy winter countryside with an icy river meandering along. Santa has s lovely pattern painted on the back of his cloak and he is holding a walking staff topped with a little decorated Christmas in one hand and a bronze mail satchel in the other. SEE CLOSE UP PICTURES BELOW. This statue is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not molded or mass produced as are some molded resin Santas from China. All our Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two are ever the same!) This Grandfather Frost (as he is called in Russia) is made in Sergei Posad, Russia. This Santa is signed by the artist and measures approximately 6.25 inches tall by 4.75 inches wide.
