This fantastic Russian 5 piece matryoshka nesting set is hand carved and hand painted in watercolors - the wood grain can be seen through the paint. This set consists of three Santa brothers, a snowman and a Christmas tree. The largest doll is that of a Santa or Grandfather Frost holding a Christmas tree covered with glitter. The next two dolls are Santas as well - one holding a staff and the other holding a bell. Then we have a snowman with his gold scarf and then a little Christmas tree.  The doll is then very lightly lacquered creating this wonderful matte nesting set. This doll is made in Sergei Posad, Russia and is crafted from Linden wood. The largest doll measures just over 6.25 inches tall and the smallest is just over 1.25 inches tall.
