This lovely Russian Santa Claus is intricately hand carved and hand painted by the artist creating this fantastic snowy winter scene in front of the famous traditional Russian Kremlin! The scene shows a traditional Russian Troika (a sleigh pulled by three horses) dashing through the snow in front of the Kremlin Clock Tower and St. Basil's Cathedral - complete with the famous colorful Onion Domes which makes it such an iconic example of Russian architecture. Santa is also holding a sweet Russian bear over his shoulder. Santa's cloak is beautifully painted in shades of blue with another famous scene on the back - the famous Christ the Saviour Cathedral located on the banks of the Moskva River (SEE CLOSE UP PICTURES BELOW!) This Santa is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not mass produced molded resin from China. All Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two Santas are ever identical.) This Grandfather Frost, as he is called in Russia, is made in Sergei Posad, Russia and is signed by the artist. This nice size Santa measures approximately 13.75 inches tall by 7.25 inches wide.
