This cute little hand painted Russian Santa Claus has a lovely muted red, blue and gold cloak.  He is beautifully hand carved and hand painted by the artist to enhance details in the face, beard and costume. The artist painted a large snowflake on Santa's blue sack of goodies! (See close up pictures below.) This statuette is lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not mass produced molded resin from China. All Russian Santas are one of a kind, unique, and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two Santas are ever identical.) This Grandfather Frost, as he is called in Russia, is made in Sergei Posad, Russia and is signed by the artist. This nicely sized Santa measures between 7.5 and 7.75 inches tall by 4 inches wide.
