This lovely little burgundy and gold hand painted Russian Santa Claus is highlighted with gold paint making it glow under the lights.  Santa is holding his pack - so filled with goodies he had to patch it when it ripped! He is beautifully hand carved and hand painted by the artist to enhance details in the face, beard and costume. (See close up pictures below.) This statuette is lightly lacquered so it is easily cleaned and protected. The solid linden wood is dried for almost 2 years before it is carved. (Note: These are not mass produced molded resin from China. All Russian Santas are one of a kind unique and hand carved from Linden Wood so no two Santas are ever identical.) This Grandfather Frost, as he is called in Russia, is made in Sergei Posad, Russia. This nicely sized Santa measures approximately 6.75 inches tall by 3 inches wide.
